Christopher Murphy dies in fatal Tazewell County crash

Fatal Tazewell County crash death of Christopher Murphy – Obituary

Christopher Murphy, 35, of rural Manito, lost his life Tuesday night following a devastating vehicle fire in Tazewell County.

The crash occurred along the 12000 block of Bluff Road, situated between Sky Ranch and Helmig Roads in rural Manito. Authorities said Murphy was alone inside his pickup truck when it became completely consumed by flames.

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley arrived at the scene and officially pronounced Murphy deceased. According to the coroner, an autopsy was conducted Friday, with final findings still awaiting completion.

The circumstances surrounding the fiery wreck remain under review as the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office and the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office continue their joint investigation.
