Authorities in Hartford have confirmed the identity of a man who died following a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning. Police said the victim was 31-year-old Shalique Payne of Manchester.
According to the Hartford Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Elizabeth Street and North Beacon Street at about 1:09 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 2013 Hyundai Sonata that had collided with a retaining wall located on the west side of the intersection. Payne, who was driving the vehicle, was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
