Fatal Westminster police shooting death of Zachary Beaudet – Obituary

Zachary Beaudet, 22, was shot and killed Monday by police in Westminster, Massachusetts, during an attempted arrest at a residence on South Ashburnham Road. Officers arrived around 4:42 p.m. to serve a warrant and encountered Beaudet holding a large knife.

As Beaudet moved toward the officers, they discharged their firearms. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. Beaudet had previously been arrested in 2025 for possession of child sexual abuse material, pleaded guilty, and was serving a one-year probation sentence. Missed counseling appointments led to the issuance of the arrest warrant.

Authorities continue to review the circumstances of the shooting, while Beaudet’s family has noted his struggles with hearing and depression following his prior arrest.
