Fatal Montgomery County shooting death of Andre Duvall – Obituary
Andre Duvall, 27, of Germantown, was shot during an exchange with Montgomery County police officers on March 24, 2026, in Montgomery Village. Officers had been patrolling the Contour Road area in response to community reports of criminal activity when they observed Duvall approaching another known individual in a parking lot.
As Duvall attempted to leave the area upon seeing a marked police cruiser, he ran across Contour Road and into an apartment complex. According to authorities, when an officer pursued him and identified himself, Duvall fired multiple shots. The officer took cover and returned fire, striking Duvall. Emergency personnel provided medical aid, and he was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries before being taken into custody.
Duvall faces charges including two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault, and multiple firearms violations. Law enforcement confirmed that no officers or bystanders were injured during the incident. The Montgomery County Police Investigative Services Bureau is conducting an investigation, and body-worn camera footage is expected to be released during the week of March 30.
