Fatal Austin, Texas motorcycle crash death of Evan Sedall – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that 26-year-old Evan Sedall was killed in a motorcycle crash early Friday morning in south Austin.

The incident occurred around 3:03 a.m. on the 2600 block of West Slaughter Lane. Police reported that Sedall, the sole rider, lost control of his motorcycle, which left the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash marks Austin’s 17th fatal traffic incident of 2026. Westbound Slaughter Lane was closed for several hours while the Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit and the Travis County Medical Examiner conducted their investigation.

Officials noted that the investigation also delayed response to a separate auto-pedestrian crash on U.S. 183, contributing to extended traffic disruptions in northwest Austin.

The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
