Authorities have confirmed the identity of a 79-year-old man who lost his life after a shooting that occurred early on March 28 in Indian River County. The victim has been identified as T.H. Robertson, according to officials from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies were dispatched around 5:29 a.m. to the 8500 block of 64th Avenue in the Wabasso area following reports of gunfire. The location is situated northwest of the Indian River County Fairgrounds and Expo Center.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Robertson outside behind his residence. Law enforcement personnel immediately attempted to provide medical assistance, but he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators spoke with several individuals in the area who reported hearing gunshots around the time of the incident. Authorities are continuing to gather information and are urging residents to come forward with any tips or video footage that may help in the investigation.
