Authorities have identified 19-year-old Elijah Rene Bernal as the victim of a fatal shooting at a Northeast Side apartment complex in San Antonio.

The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on March 21 at the Avistar at the Oaks apartments near Thousand Oaks Drive and Wetmore Road. Police reported that Bernal, a resident of the complex, had gone to the parking lot to meet someone when he was shot.

Emergency personnel arrived quickly but pronounced Bernal dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner confirmed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released information about any suspects or motives.
