Authorities have identified 20-year-old David Velazquez of Hammond, Indiana, as the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday at a party in Crete.

Will County Sheriff’s police responded around 1 a.m. to the 27000 block of South State Line Road following reports of a large fight and possible gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple shooting victims, including Velazquez.

He was transported to a hospital in Olympia Fields for treatment of his injuries but was pronounced dead. The incident involved two other individuals who were also shot, and law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
