Melissa Fields, 49, of Wilmington, Ohio, died Sunday night after a collision near Central State University involving her vehicle and a car carrying three college students. She was pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fields was driving a 2022 Honda Civic northeast on U.S. 42 and attempting a left turn onto Hickman Road when a 2004 Honda Accord traveling southwest struck her vehicle. Both cars left the roadway and ended up in a ditch near the intersection.

The 19-year-old driver of the Accord was treated at the scene for minor injuries, and two 20-year-old female passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
