Fatal Napa County collision death of Vivian Bertolino – Obituary

Vivian Bertolino, 65, of American Canyon, was killed Saturday afternoon in a head-on crash on Silverado Trail east of Yountville in Napa County, California. Two other women, Linda Wolters, 62, of American Canyon, and Katrina Clarke, 65, of Sacramento, also died in the multi-vehicle collision.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Bertolino and Wolters were passengers in a Mitsubishi sedan driven by 68-year-old William Dene Brumley of Vallejo, who is suspected of driving under the influence at the time. Brumley crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a northbound BMW SUV before colliding head-on with a Toyota sedan carrying Clarke.

Bertolino and Wolters were pronounced dead—one at the scene, the other at Queen of the Valley hospital—while Clarke later died at Kaiser Vacaville hospital. Brumley was treated for injuries and remains in custody on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the crash.
