Authorities have confirmed that 26-year-old Francisco Contreras Villarreal was the motorcyclist who lost his life in a crash near Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.

The accident occurred just after 5 p.m. on March 31 as Villarreal was traveling west along 5300 South. According to the Murray Police Department, the collision happened when a car attempted to make a left turn onto Intermountain Drive, crossing into his path.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Villarreal was pronounced dead at the location of the crash. Officials later clarified that he had been wearing a helmet at the time, which was found a short distance from where the collision occurred.

Police stated that the driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators. Their identity has not been released publicly.

In a statement, the Murray Police Department expressed condolences to Villarreal’s loved ones and reminded motorists to remain attentive, especially as motorcycle activity increases with warmer weather. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
