Fatal Evesham Township, New Jersey police-involved crash death of Joseph J. Meadowcroft – Obituary
Officials have confirmed the identity of a young man who was killed in a crash that occurred during an attempted police stop in Evesham Township. The victim, Joseph J. Meadowcroft, 22, was a resident of the local area.
According to information released by the New Jersey Office of Public Integrity and Accountability, the incident happened in the early morning hours of March 20 in the Marlton section of the township. Authorities said Meadowcroft was driving a Ford Mustang when an Evesham Township police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Investigators say Meadowcroft continued driving before his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer near the intersection of Route 73 and Lincoln Drive at approximately 4:38 a.m. The police vehicle was not directly involved in the crash.
Meadowcroft suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed.
The case remains under active investigation, and officials have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash.
