Authorities have identified the woman who lost her life in a crash involving an e-scooter in the Sun Valley area. Gabrielle Frugoli, 34, of Sparks, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 6:45 p.m. on March 17 near Gepford Parkway, just south of Desiree Court. Investigators say a 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Sun Valley Boulevard while Frugoli was riding an e-scooter northbound along the outside shoulder.
Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle struck the e-scooter before continuing forward, eventually leaving the roadway, entering a ditch, and overturning.
Frugoli died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver of the Camry was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
