Fatal Tippecanoe County, Indiana crash death of Mason Maggiacomo – Obituary
Mason Maggiacomo, 21, from New Jersey, was killed early Friday morning in a single-vehicle accident at North River Road and County Road 500 North in Tippecanoe County.
According to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department, Maggiacomo was driving eastbound in a Volkswagen Passat when he passed another vehicle, briefly left the roadway, and regained control. Approaching a curve leading to River Road, he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with several signposts and trees before striking a large tree that split his car in two. Despite wearing a seat belt and the airbags deploying, he suffered fatal blunt force injuries.
The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office preliminarily ruled the death accidental, with final toxicology results pending. The crash remains under investigation.
