Jerquavious Johnson Jr., 25, of Bossier City, was killed during a shooting on Easter Sunday in Shreveport. The incident occurred during a weekend gathering on W. 7th Street, where gunfire erupted, leaving Johnson fatally wounded.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m., according to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office. Johnson was confirmed through fingerprint identification, and authorities have ordered an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation into his death.
Shreveport Police reported that Johnson’s death represents the fifth homicide in the city and Caddo Parish for 2026. Another individual arrived at the hospital later after sustaining a minor gunshot graze.
Police noted that two vehicles at the scene had bullet damage to their windshields, while a third vehicle had a hole in the driver’s side window.
