Fatal Tucson, Arizona car crash death of Anthony Michael Pashano – Obituary
Anthony Michael Pashano, 37, has been identified as the bicyclist who lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Tucson’s northeast side. The collision occurred Tuesday afternoon near Tanque Verde Road and Pantano Road.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash involving a cyclist. Despite efforts by first responders, Pashano was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Pashano had been riding his bicycle northbound through a private parking lot before entering the roadway. Authorities believe he failed to stop or yield to oncoming traffic as he moved into the eastbound lanes, where he was struck by a Ford Mustang traveling in that direction.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and was evaluated at the scene, with officials determining that impairment was not a factor. Police noted that Pashano was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Officials indicated that the cyclist’s entry into the roadway without yielding, along with the vehicle’s speed, contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and no charges or citations have been issued.
