Roberto C. Garcia-Chavez, 19, and Trent Badillo, 17, have been identified by authorities as two of the victims who died after a vehicle plunged into the Willamette River in downtown Portland. Both teens were from Beavercreek, and their families have been notified.

Police said Garcia-Chavez was believed to be driving a white 1996 Toyota Corolla when the crash occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday. Investigators reported that the vehicle had been seen traveling the wrong direction and running red lights before officers attempted a traffic stop.

Authorities stated the driver did not stop, continued through downtown streets, and eventually entered Waterfront Park before going into the river. Dive teams later recovered the bodies of two occupants from the water.

A third teenager survived the crash and was rescued with minor injuries, while a fourth occupant, believed to be a 20-year-old man, remains missing and is presumed dead. Officials have not yet released his identity.

The investigation remains ongoing, with recovery efforts and further examination of the circumstances still underway.
