Fatal Vancouver, Washington shooting death of Guerlin P. Caetano – Obituary
A homicide investigation in Vancouver, Washington, has been launched following the death of a young man who was shot in a parking lot earlier this month.
Police confirmed that Guerlin P. Caetano, a 20-year-old from Tacoma, was the victim of the incident. He was discovered with gunshot wounds in the parking area of a strip mall along SE Mill Plain Boulevard after officers responded to reports of gunfire early Saturday morning.
Emergency crews transported him for medical treatment, but his condition worsened, and he died several days later on Tuesday due to injuries linked to a gunshot wound to the head, according to the medical examiner’s findings.
Authorities later classified the case as a homicide. Investigators say the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear and remain under active review.
Law enforcement officials have not identified or located any suspect in connection with the incident. Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and are urging members of the public with any information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
