According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, Barco was walking in the area when he was hit by a car driven by a 17-year-old. Police reported that the teenage driver fled the scene immediately after the collision but later came back. He has since been taken into custody in connection with the fatal incident.
Law enforcement officials noted that this tragedy adds to a growing number of deadly crashes in the city. Data shows that at least nine other people have died in traffic-related incidents in Milwaukee so far this year, following a total of 62 fatalities recorded in the previous year.
