The police department has officially confirmed that the individual killed in the incident was Heather Crews, a 38-year-old woman. The victim’s relatives have been informed about this tragic event.

Investigators from the Accident Reconstruction unit and the District 6 team are examining a hit-and-run situation that happened on I-70 near Adelaide on the morning of October 2, 2025. According to initial findings and analysis of security camera recordings, approximately at 5:30 a.m., an unidentifiable woman jumped the barrier on the westbound side of I-70 and Adelaide. She then crossed the road, stopping briefly as cars passed, before being hit by a vehicle that quickly left the scene. Tragically, several other cars also ran over the victim after the first collision.

No one involved in the vehicles remained at the accident spot. Emergency medical services confirmed the death at the location.

The Accident Reconstruction experts are focusing on the accident’s mechanics, while the 6th District Detective Bureau is investigating the vehicles that fled the scene and their drivers.
