Official reports indicate a pedestrian, later identified as Hettie L. Bruce, an 81-year-old individual, passed away on Wednesday following a collision with a pickup truck. The incident occurred shortly before 9:55 a.m. near the 1900 block section of Poinsett Highway.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators, the accident involved a 2026 model Toyota pickup truck. The vehicle was reportedly entering Poinsett Highway from a private driveway when a pedestrian attempted to cross the driveway area. The authorities stated that the woman involved received medical treatment and was transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Despite the medical intervention, the woman, identified by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office as Hettie L. Bruce, unfortunately passed away later that day, around 1:13 p.m. The death was attributed to injuries resulting from blunt force trauma, with the authorities determining the incident was an accident.
