Fatal Toronto unprovoked attack death of Joseph Eric Aubin

Toronto authorities have confirmed the identity of a homeless individual who succumbed to injuries suffered in a late August confrontation. Joseph Eric Aubin, aged 62, passed away on September 4th, approximately a week following the assault.

The incident transpired in the downtown Toronto region, specifically near the intersection of Queen Street West and Bay Street. Two individuals reportedly approached Aubin while he was asleep on a bench. He sustained serious injuries from the unprovoked encounter.

Aubin received medical attention and was discharged from the hospital, but subsequently lost vital signs in a different part of the city at a later date. Police have stated they are still attempting to contact family members to inform them of his passing despite extensive efforts.

Two suspects, a 20-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy, face charges related to Aubin’s death and other alleged disturbances that occurred on August 31st. Police have announced they will release the identity of the deceased once they have located his next of kin.
