Fatal Wood Green stabbing death of Marvin Dickson.

Law officials at the Old Bailey have stated that the remains of a man were located within a residence in the Wood Green area of north London, over ten days subsequent to the fatal incident. Marvin Dickson, aged 40, was discovered by law enforcement personnel on the 20th of September 2024 inside the home belonging to Dante Forrest. This discovery was prompted by a report from a nearby resident concerning an offensive odor emanating from the premises.

Prosecution advocates presented evidence indicating that Mr. Dickson suffered fatal injuries, including being pierced by a sharp object and struck forcefully on the head at least once. The legal representative for the prosecution, Catherine Pattison, emphasized the violent nature of the encounter, describing it as “brutal” during the initial remarks made to the court members.

Mr. Forrest, aged 37, is currently not admitting to the charge of murdering Mr. Dickson. The legal team representing the prosecution indicated that the two individuals were acquainted. According to the prosecution’s account, police were dispatched to the defendant’s home late at night, near the closing time of the day, following the neighbor’s increasingly urgent report regarding the unpleasant smell. Upon arrival, the officers encountered the dwelling secured with a lock, necessitating forced entry to gain access. Within the premises, the body of Marvin Dickson was found resting in a bathtub.

Further evidence presented during the proceedings included visual records from a local pizza establishment, showing both individuals being captured on film on the day the victim was last observed in public. Shortly after their separation, Mr. Dickson was last seen carrying a pizza box. Photographs taken inside Mr. Forrest’s living quarters displayed a pizza box stained with blood, matching the type used by the local takeaway business.

Official scientific examination confirmed that the blood found on the pizza box belonged to Mr. Dickson. The prosecution further revealed that Mr. Dickson’s blood was also detected on the clothing and footwear attributed to Mr. Forrest, which were allegedly worn during the time of the alleged killing. Images presented to the court displayed noticeable blood splatters on the inner surfaces of the front room, with the prosecution suggesting the sequence of events began with the murder taking place in that area before the victim was forcibly moved towards the bathroom.

The legal representative for the prosecution also mentioned that this property was frequently cited for various issues. The premises were noted for being a gathering spot where individuals reportedly gathered for leisure or substance use, leading to multiple official orders prohibiting public access. The most recent such prohibition order ceased to be effective on August 1st, 2024, granting Mr. Forrest permission to re-enter the property.

In a formal declaration given to law authorities, which the prosecution summarized, Mr. Forrest expressed his apprehension about returning to the house and mentioned he did not possess the key needed to unlock the padlock securing the primary entrance door. The ongoing judicial process continues.
