Fatal Downs car crash death of Alice Fulks
A female individual from the Downs area was pronounced deceased in a serious automobile mishap on Saturday, situated to the south of Bloomington.
The McLean County Coroner, Kathy Yoder, confirmed that the deceased was Alice Fulks, a seventy-one-year-old resident.
A preliminary examination by the coroner’s office revealed multiple trauma injuries as the cause of death, stemming from the accident that unfolded around 3 p.m. on U.S. Route 150, near the intersection with N 2000 East Road in Downs.
Illinois State Police reported the incident involved two cars colliding head-on, with one proceeding eastbound and the other westbound on the roadway.
The victim was immediately confirmed dead at the scene of the incident.
Law enforcement noted that the other driver tried to elude the area but was eventually apprehended; he was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his own injuries.
Both the State Police and the county coroner’s office are conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident.
