Rodolfo Pimentel Zamora, Francisco Del Moral Jimenez, and Alvaro Espejo Javier Rodriguez succumbed to their injuries following a fatal plane crash in Clinton County.
Three men, identified as Rodolfo Pimentel Zamora, Francisco Del Moral Jimenez, and Alvaro Espejo Javier Rodriguez, have been confirmed as victims of a fatal plane crash in Clinton County. These three individuals, hailing from Mexico, were killed on Thursday afternoon.
The authorities announced on Sunday that they had officially identified the three victims. Rodolfo Pimentel Zamora and Francisco Del Moral Jimenez originated from Mexico City, while Alvaro Espejo Javier Rodriguez was from Veracruz, Mexico. Their passing occurred around 5 p.m. Thursday after their aircraft crashed near the intersection of Clark Road and Peacock Road in Bath Township, situated north of Lansing.
The identification process was carried out in conjunction with the Mexican Consulate office in Detroit and the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Hospital’s Medical Examiner’s Office. According to an official statement, these identifications are not yet definitive, and DNA testing will be required over the coming weeks.
Bath Township Supervisor Ryan Fewins-Bliss addressed the situation during a press conference held on Sunday. He stated that the crash took place on state-owned property within Bath Township. Fewins-Bliss expressed the community’s condolences, saying, “On behalf of the entire Bath community we mourn the loss of these victims today and in the future, and send love and healing thoughts to their families.” He also mentioned his gratitude towards federal investigators who are diligently working on the crash site, even though they are currently facing a government funding pause due to a federal shutdown.
Bath Township Fire Chief Mark Koonter described the crash location as a remote, forested area considerably distant from the road. He noted that the dense vegetation presented significant challenges for emergency responders, who had to employ saws to clear the underbrush and reach the accident scene.
FlightAware.com, a service that tracks aircraft movements, reported that a Hawker 800 twin-engine plane departed from Battle Creek Executive Airport at Kellogg Field on Thursday. The flight proceeded northwest for approximately 152 miles, reaching the general vicinity of the crash before the recorded flight path concluded.
