Douglas Barnett, 77, of Juliet, Illinois, lost his life Thursday in a serious collision on the Western Kentucky Parkway, authorities confirmed.
According to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred when a truck driven by Stephen Vanderzwart veered across the median and struck Barnett’s vehicle head-on. As standard procedure in fatal accidents, Vanderzwart underwent a blood draw.
The sheriff’s office also reported that a third vehicle was damaged by debris from the collision, though no additional injuries were immediately disclosed.
