Fatal Pulaski County truck crash death of Eduardo Rangel Cavazos – Obituary
Officials say 49-year-old Eduardo Rangel Cavazos of Allende, Nuevo León, Mexico, died following a multi-truck collision in Pulaski County, Arkansas.
The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on March 4, 2026, along eastbound Interstate 40 near the 164-mile marker in a rural area east of Little Rock.
According to preliminary findings from Arkansas State Police, Cavazos was driving a 2021 Kenworth tractor-trailer when it struck the rear of a stopped 2017 Volvo truck. The Volvo had been halted on the roadway along with two other tractor-trailers because of a previous crash.
Investigators said the force of the impact pushed the Volvo into a 2019 Freightliner, which then struck a 2022 Volvo positioned ahead of it, creating a chain-reaction collision involving multiple trucks.
Cavazos was pronounced dead following the crash. Authorities reported no additional injuries in the incident.
State Police noted that the weather was cloudy but the roadway was dry at the time. The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Andrew D. Garrison.
