Fatal Birmingham rollover crash death of Shameon Meonsha Sanders and Siederick Dewayne McShan Jr. – Obituary
Shameon Meonsha Sanders, 35, and Siederick Dewayne McShan Jr., 25, both of Bessemer, Alabama, were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 20/59 in Ensley on Friday night, March 6, 2026. The vehicle left the highway near the Bush Boulevard exit, traveled down a wooded embankment, struck a tree, and came to rest near the intersection of Avenue T and 19th Street.
First responders arrived at 10:47 p.m. and found the vehicle heavily damaged, preventing immediate rescue. Sanders and McShan were pronounced dead at the scene at 11:30 p.m. Authorities conducted a search of the surrounding area to ensure no other occupants had been ejected, but no additional victims were found.
The sedan was later recovered from the woods, and Birmingham Fire and Rescue retrieved the victims from the vehicle shortly after 1 a.m. Birmingham police continue to investigate the circumstances of the deadly crash.
