Salvador Torres Garcia, 29, has died following a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle in Thermal.
Authorities in Riverside County reported that the crash happened early Tuesday morning near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Pierce Street, close to Highway 86.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Garcia was riding his motorcycle along Pierce Street shortly after 6 a.m. when he entered an intersection and collided with a sedan traveling southbound.
The force of the impact caused severe injuries, and emergency responders confirmed that Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators noted that the driver of the sedan did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
Officials have not yet released further details about what may have led to the collision, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
