Fatal Atlanta homicide death of Tange Davis
Law enforcement in Georgia reports that the boyfriend of a missing individual confessed to murdering her and interring her body within the city of Atlanta.
Cobb County officials released a notice for Tange Davis, who was 45, on Tuesday, emphasizing that her family and acquaintances were profoundly worried about her welfare.
Police indicated that her son contacted authorities over the weekend, noting he had not received any communication from her since Thursday, a scenario that was highly unusual.
Based on the OnStar tracking system, the son monitored his mother’s sport utility vehicle down to the parking area of a Lidl supermarket in Mableton and subsequently alerted emergency services.
Upon receiving the alert, officers found Cecil McCrary, aged 56, present at the site shortly after.
McCrary informed law enforcement that Davis was his companion and had been at his home in Mableton just before Thursday evening. He supplied surveillance video from his property showing her departure.
Cobb County authorities initiated a search for Davis, and on Tuesday, they issued a public alert for her due to escalating concerns.
Tuesday night saw McCrary brought into custody for questioning by the police.
During the interview, McCrary revealed that he had committed the murder of Tange Davis and concealed her body in Atlanta.
The Cobb County Police informed their Atlanta counterparts about the developments, and law enforcement located and recovered female remains at the spot McCrary referenced.
As per a formal arrest document, McCrary faces two counts of larceny connected to Davis’s absence. He is currently incarcerated in the Cobb County detention center.
According to a legal document, McCrary is accused of stealing Davis’s smartphone and her Chevrolet vehicle sometime during the early hours of Friday after a disagreement.
The Cobb County Police conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to Davis’s relatives, friends, and associates in a public statement, describing her loss as profoundly sorrowful and pointless.
Cobb County police mentioned that they had addressed several incidents of domestic violence involving McCrary and Davis in the past.
At the time of the murder, McCrary was out on bail from a prior case involving charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Interim Chief Dan Ferrell of the Cobb County Police expressed devastation, stating, “This loss is overwhelming for all of us,” and urged the community to support those at risk.
The police department encouraged anyone experiencing abuse or apprehension about personal safety to seek immediate assistance.
