Fatal Boston car crash death of Alhanouf Alhazzaa

Officials confirmed Thursday that the woman killed when a Boston University shuttle bus struck a pedestrian near Boston Medical Center was Alhanouf Alhazzaa, a 40-year-old from Saudi Arabia. The fatal accident, involving the shuttle bus, occurred just before 8 a.m. on October 6th on Albany Street, close to the hospital. Alhazzaa was pinned under the vehicle at the scene and pronounced deceased by medical examiners.

Despite the identification, authorities stated ten days later that the cause of the fatal accident investigation was still ongoing. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office announced Alhanoua Alhazzaa’s identity on Thursday, expressing condolences for her death. The office mentioned that the Saudi consulate provided assistance in notifying Alhazzaa’s family about the tragic incident.

Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden expressed sympathy for the loss, stating in a statement that he was “deeply sorry for the family’s loss” and thankful for the Saudi consulate’s role in contacting the victim’s relatives.

No information was released at that time regarding potential charges against anyone or vehicle citations related to the fatal pedestrian accident involving the Boston shuttle bus. A university official had previously confirmed that a Boston University shuttle bus was involved in the October 6th collision at the Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street intersection.
