Fatal Clinton County plane crash death of Rodolfo Pimentel Zamora, Francisco del moral Jimenez and Alvaro Espejo Javier Rodriguez
Law enforcement officials in Clinton County, Michigan, have confirmed the identities of three individuals who lost their lives in an aircraft accident east of Lansing. The individuals identified were pilots Rodolfo Pimentel Zamora, age 50, and Francisco del moral Jimenez, age 55, along with mechanic Alvaro Espejo Javier Rodriguez, age 69. It has been reported that all three individuals were citizens of Mexico.
Further clarification indicates that these identifications are currently provisional. The official confirmation will be finalized pending DNA testing results, a procedure that is expected to take several weeks to complete. Authorities have emphasized this point regarding the preliminary nature of the identifications.
The identification process involved cooperation between Bath Township police, representatives from the Mexican Consulate in Detroit, and the medical examiner’s office at University of Michigan Health Sparrow Hospital. This collaborative effort was necessary to confirm the remains.
Initial emergency responses were dispatched on October 16th to the scene of the incident. Responders were alerted to a small aircraft crash located near the intersection of Clark and Peacock roads, which is in Bath Township. This location is situated east of the city of Lansing.
The aircraft involved was a Hawker 800XP model, classified as a business jet. According to reports, the plane was conducting a test flight following the completion of scheduled maintenance procedures before the accident occurred. Duncan Aviation, an airline maintenance company with a facility at Battle Creek Executive Airport (Kellogg Field), was identified as the entity that performed the recent maintenance.
A Duncan Aviation spokesperson stated that none of the deceased individuals employed by the company were among those killed in the accident. It was noted that the pilots and the maintenance representative were all associated with the customer who had requested the aircraft servicing.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently conducting an investigation into the accident. At this time, the specific cause of the crash has not been determined by investigators.
