Fatal Phoenix restaurant shooting death of Oscar Humberto Banuelos – Obituary

Oscar Humberto Banuelos, a 35-year-old man, was fatally shot Friday morning at a restaurant in west Phoenix, according to authorities.

Phoenix Police responded to the scene shortly after 8 a.m. on Jan. 30 near the intersection of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road, where Banuelos was found with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the location.

Investigators identified 22-year-old Juan Jamie Gomez Aguirre as the suspected shooter. Aguirre was apprehended in a neighboring jurisdiction and has been charged with murder. No other suspects are currently being sought.

The motive behind the shooting and the precise circumstances leading to the incident have not been released, as the investigation remains ongoing.
