Fatal Cincinnati, Ohio shooting death of Diamond Rice – Obituary

Diamond Rice, 33, was killed Sunday night after being shot in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati, police said. The deadly incident occurred just before 10:15 p.m. on February 1 in the 2300 block of May Street.

Cincinnati police officers were dispatched to the area following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Rice suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders attempted to provide life-saving treatment at the scene, but she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

Authorities later confirmed Rice’s identity and announced that an arrest had been made in connection with the case. Early Monday morning, police took 31-year-old Jasmine Blake into custody and charged her with murder in relation to Rice’s death.

The Cincinnati Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section Homicide Unit is leading the ongoing investigation. Officials are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the unit directly as detectives continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
