Michael Molano, a 23-year-old from Fresno, has been identified as the victim of a deadly collision involving a semi-truck in Fresno County.

The incident occurred early in the morning on January 18 along Clovis Avenue near Highway 99. Investigators say Molano was driving a pickup truck when it collided with a semi-truck that was attempting to make a U-turn in extremely heavy fog.

Following the impact, both vehicles became engulfed in flames. Molano suffered fatal injuries at the scene, while the driver of the semi-truck escaped without harm.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office reported that Molano’s injuries included severe burns, which complicated the identification process. The California Highway Patrol stated that limited visibility caused by dense fog played a significant role in the crash.

Authorities continue to stress caution when driving in foggy conditions as the investigation remains focused on the circumstances leading up to the collision.
