Damon Richard James Owens, a 42-year-old resident of Stockton, has died following a shooting in the city’s Lakeview district.
Authorities with Stockton Police and the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Owens was shot on April 7 in the 7600 block of Pacific Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene shortly after 5:00 a.m. and located him suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but later died due to the severity of his injuries.
Following an investigation, detectives identified a suspect, 42-year-old Trung Nguyen, who was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on a homicide charge.
Officials said the case remains under active investigation as authorities continue to gather evidence and review the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
