Fatal Cumberland County, North Carolina crash death of Tanielu Soli Jr. – Obituary
Authorities have identified 41-year-old Tanielu Soli Jr. of Fayetteville as one of two people who died in a deadly crash on NC Highway 87 in Cumberland County. The collision happened Monday morning near Swallowtail Court, south of Fayetteville.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a Ford Fusion traveling south went off the road, struck a guardrail, and became airborne before crossing into oncoming traffic. The vehicle then collided head-on with a northbound Subaru Outback.
Investigators say both occupants of the Ford Fusion were ejected during the crash and died at the scene. Soli Jr.’s 12-year-old passenger, Jarius Tanielu, was also killed. The driver of the Subaru was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials reported that neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have contributed to the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
