Authorities have identified the man who lost his life in a fiery crash that occurred Wednesday evening in Cascade Township.
Kunal Raina, 46, a resident of Cascade Township, was confirmed as the victim by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were alerted to the incident at approximately 9:43 p.m. after receiving an automatic crash notification from an iPhone, followed by multiple calls from witnesses reporting a vehicle that had struck a tree near the intersection of Buttrick Avenue SE and Ashwood Drive SE.
When first responders arrived, they discovered the vehicle completely engulfed in flames. Raina, who was the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have not yet determined what led to the crash, and the incident remains under active investigation by local authorities.
