Fatal Jefferson County shooting death of James D. Cross – Obituary
Authorities in Jefferson County are investigating the death of 47-year-old James D. Cross of Dahlgren after he was found dead in a Belle Rive parking lot Sunday morning.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a 911 call at approximately 7:10 a.m. regarding an unresponsive man in the 21800 block of East Bonnie Road. Deputies, detectives, the county coroner, and ISP Crime Scene specialists responded to the scene.
An autopsy performed later that day determined that Mr. Cross died from a gunshot wound. Investigators from the Mt. Vernon Police Department have also joined the inquiry.
