Authorities have confirmed the identity of a young man who was killed in a collision involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer in Charleston. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Codie Hill of North Charleston.
According to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred at the intersection of Clements Ferry Road and Marina Drive around 6:42 a.m. Thursday. Investigators say Hill was riding a motorcycle when it collided with an 18-wheeler under circumstances that remain under review.
Emergency personnel transported Hill to the Medical University of South Carolina for urgent treatment, but he was later pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m.
Officials have not released additional details about how the crash unfolded, and the investigation is still ongoing.
