On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, a collision involving two vehicles resulted in one death and one injury on East Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala. The Ocala Police Department received reports at 10:19 a.m. and arrived shortly thereafter. Emergency personnel confirmed the fatality at 10:28 a.m.

The scene was located west of 25th Avenue. According to police, a Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling westbound collided head-on with a Ford Edge SUV going eastbound. The SUV, which drifted into the westbound lane for an unknown reason, was involved in the fatal accident. The pickup truck driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to HCA Ocala Florida Hospital.

To manage the scene, authorities closed the intersection with Southeast 25th Avenue and restricted access to Silver Springs Boulevard. Traffic was fully restored at 2:55 p.m. One motorist was cited for driving around police barricades. Ocala police identified the deceased as Dwight James Clark, a 68-year-old Ocala resident whose origin and destination remain unknown. The survivor, identified as a 70-year-old man from Morriston, remained hospitalized as police wait to officially disclose his name.
