Hunter Davis dies in fatal Hanover County shooting

Fatal Hanover County shooting death of Hunter Davis

State law enforcement authorities are currently searching for the person responsible for the fatal shooting that occurred on Interstate 295 in Hanover County on Tuesday evening. According to the authorities, the 27-year-old man named Hunter Davis was targeted with gunfire while he was driving his pickup truck near the Pole Green Road exit.

Following the shooting incident, Davis’ vehicle lost control, departed the roadway, and subsequently ignited, resulting in his death. The investigation into this matter is still in its preliminary phase. Although state police have identified the deceased individual, they are still working to determine the reasons behind the event and to identify the suspect.

In the broader context of this year, there have been a minimum of six similar shooting incidents reported on highways across Central Virginia. With the exception of one case, all of these occurrences were fatal.
