Fatal Pierce County car crash death of Jena Klos – Obituary
Jena Klos, 43, of Ellsworth, and Betty Buck, 77, of Amery, have died following a severe two-vehicle collision in Pierce County on Tuesday afternoon. The tragic incident occurred on Highway 63 near 770th Street in the town of Trenton around 3:55 p.m.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Klos was driving a southbound 2013 Kia Optima when it collided with a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Equinox operated by 77-year-old Rodney Buck. Authorities say Betty Buck, a passenger in Rodney Buck’s vehicle, was killed at the scene.
Klos was rushed to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Rodney Buck was initially treated at Mayo Hospital in Red Wing before being transferred to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester; his current condition has not been fully disclosed.
Investigators with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to examine the circumstances that led to the collision. Officials have not released additional information, but the crash serves as a somber reminder of the risks present on rural roadways.
