Fatal Southington ATV crash death of Andrew Connolly – Obituary
Andrew Connolly, 83, of Southington, was killed Sunday afternoon after an ATV accident, according to local authorities. Police reported the incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. near Mandel Drive, where officers were called to check on an unresponsive man beside an overturned all-terrain vehicle.
A witness led responders to a nearby property on Flanders Street, where Connolly was found unresponsive next to the ATV. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate that Connolly had been operating an ATV equipped with a snowplow attachment when it went off an eight-foot retaining wall along a driveway, causing the vehicle to roll over. The Southington Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is conducting a detailed investigation into the crash.
