Fatal Elyria, Ohio car crash death of Tiffany Kunc – Obituary

Tiffany Kunc, a 34-year-old resident of Elyria, was killed Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle along West River Road South, according to local authorities.

Police say officers were dispatched around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 to the 6700 block of West River Road South following reports of a possible pedestrian crash. When officers arrived, they discovered Kunc lying in the snow and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators later reviewed surveillance video from the area, which confirmed that Kunc had been hit by a vehicle. The driver did not stop at the time of the incident.

Police were able to locate the suspected vehicle at a residence in Lorain. A search warrant was executed for both the car and the home, and the vehicle was taken into custody along with additional evidence. The man who was driving at the time told officers he believed he had struck a deer.

Authorities stated that impairment from drugs or alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and potential criminal charges will depend on the final findings.
