Aurora, Colorado Man Marcos Ortega-Lopez Arrested in Aurora for Fatal Hit-and-Run
AURORA, CO — Marcos Ortega-Lopez, a 31-year-old resident of Aurora, was arrested in Aurora in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early Friday morning.
According to the Aurora Police Department, Ortega-Lopez was taken into custody on Friday following an extensive investigation conducted by the Traffic Investigations Unit. Authorities say the incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. at the intersection of Havana Street and East 14th Avenue, where an adult female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Ortega-Lopez was transported to the Aurora Detention Center and is currently facing a felony charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving death. He is being held in the Arapahoe County jail on a $25,000 bond.
