Christopher John Delaney dies in fatal Marsh Lake police shooting

Fatal Marsh Lake police shooting death of Christopher John Delaney – Obituary

Christopher John Delaney, 55, of Whitehorse, was killed in a police-involved shooting on Tuesday near the McClintock River Bridge in Marsh Lake, approximately 50 kilometres southeast of Whitehorse. The incident occurred around 1 p.m.

Authorities reported that Delaney was wanted in connection with a firearms-related incident over the previous weekend and faced several weapons charges. RCMP attempted to locate him, and during the encounter, a shooting occurred that resulted in his death.

The Yukon Coroner Service is working with the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), which is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Alaska Highway near the scene remains partially closed, with detours in place, as authorities continue their investigation.
