Javan O. Jackson, 20, was killed Sunday in a motorcycle crash in Travis County following a pursuit by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers. The chase began on U.S. 290 when a DPS trooper attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the pursuit ended after the trooper lost sight of Jackson.

Jackson’s motorcycle was later discovered crashed near East Parmer Lane and Old Highway 20, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident represents the ninth fatal traffic crash in Austin for 2026, compared with five deaths from five crashes on the same date in 2025.
