Authorities have identified 19-year-old Jasmine R. Harris of Mobile as the woman who died in a crash on Interstate 10 in Baldwin County, Alabama. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Sunday about a mile west of Loxley.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Harris had been a passenger in a vehicle involved in an earlier crash and was standing in the roadway when she was struck. A GMC Sierra pickup truck hit her before also colliding with a Mitsubishi Mirage that had been part of the initial incident.
Officials say Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, a 22-year-old man from Lucedale, Mississippi, was involved in the collision, though no charges have been announced as the investigation continues.
State troopers are still working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the chain of crashes.
