Fatal Elmore, Ohio Turnpike truck crash death of Ibodulloev Mukhammadali – Obituary

Authorities have identified the truck driver who lost his life in a multi-vehicle collision on the Ohio Turnpike in Ottawa County. The victim was 29-year-old Ibodulloev Mukhammadali of Brooklyn, New York.

The crash occurred Sunday morning at approximately 10:20 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of the toll road in Harris Township, located several miles east of the Interstate 280 interchange. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, traffic had slowed due to an earlier accident when Mukhammadali’s tractor-trailer failed to stop in time.

Investigators say his truck struck the rear of another semi, which was then pushed into a third truck ahead of it, resulting in a chain-reaction collision.

Mukhammadali was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the other drivers, 65-year-old Don Blount from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the lead truck, 61-year-old Kevin Csutoras of Harrison, Michigan, was not hurt.

Officials confirmed that the incident remains under investigation as they work to determine all contributing factors.
